- Treatments to eliminate cellulite
Cellulite, or orange-peel skin, is a metabolic alteration that occurs when fatty tissue accumulates in the hypodermis, generating nodules of fat, water and toxins. It is formed by an overproduction of hormones that affects the functioning of fat cells, which stop draining correctly. These cells become swollen, enlarged and stiff, preventing proper circulation and causing fluid retention. The skin is lumpy and rough, with small irregular indentations that give it an unsightly appearance. In addition, a feeling of heaviness and tingling may sometimes be felt in the affected area.
WHY CELLULITE OCCURS
Cellulite occurs much more commonly among women, while it is rare in men. Between 85 and 98% of women suffer from cellulite from adolescence onwards. It also affects white people to a greater extent.
The appearance of cellulite is associated with hormonal changes such as those that occur during puberty or pregnancy. A sedentary lifestyle, a diet high in salt, wearing tight clothing, and taking hormones favour its appearance. However, it is important to clarify that it is not always related to being overweight, nor should it be confused with the existence of localised fat, as this does not imply the appearance of cellulite.
Cellulite usually appears on the thighs and buttocks. However, other body parts, such as the tummy and arms, can also be affected. There is even facial cellulitis, a less common but serious pathology. Cellulitis on the face is a serious bacterial condition that requires immediate medical attention.
How to remove cellulite
Cellulite can be prevented through healthy habits. It is advisable to eat a varied diet rich in potassium and vitamins and avoid abusing salt or foods high in sodium, saturated fats, alcohol, coffee and tobacco. In addition, it is advisable to drink plenty of water, exercise regularly and not wear tight clothing, which hinders blood circulation, favouring its appearance.
Once the problem has appeared, there are many treatments to eliminate or reduce cellulite, such as lymphatic drainage, pressotherapy, body mesotherapy, cavitation, radiofrequency or even liposuction.
Cyclone
Body mesotherapy
One of the best treatments to eliminate cellulite is body mesotherapy. This aesthetic medicine technique applies microinjections into the skin, stimulating the body to reduce volume and firm the skin. This reduces fat accumulation, promotes lymphatic drainage and prevents fluid retention. This dramatically improves the quality and appearance of the skin, giving it a firm, smooth, even and elastic appearance. The dissolved fats are eliminated through the bloodstream and later in the urine. Mesotherapy is a highly effective cosmetic treatment to eliminate cellulite on the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, or other body areas.
Vanquish
Vanquish is one of the most innovative and effective radiofrequency treatments for eliminating localised fat and cellulite removal. Through its SCR (Selective Contactless Radiofrequency) technology, it delivers energy in the form of heat to the affected area to cause aptosis or destruction of the fat cells. It also stimulates the creation of new collagen at the same time. The fat is then eliminated through the lymphatic system and urine.
It is a safe procedure that does not damage the skin, muscles, deeper tissues or organs. It is a non-invasive and completely painless technique that achieves excellent results.
Shock waves
One of the most effective mechanisms to combat cellulite is shock waves. They consist of mechanical pressure pulses, which spread as a wave through the body. These vibrations partially rupture the fat nodules in the desired areas, favouring circulation and drainage and achieving a powerful rejuvenating effect on the skin. At the same time, it stimulates the production of new collagen and improves the lymphatic and vascular systems. The results are visible from the first session. They can be combined with other treatments to eliminate cellulite, such as radiofrequency or body mesotherapy.
